This project involved redesigning the book cover for Just Kids by Patti Smith, one of my personal favorite memoirs. The book tells the poignant and intimate story of Smith’s deep friendship with artist Robert Mapplethorpe, set against the backdrop of 1960s and 70s New York City. It explores their creative journeys, struggles, and the raw energy of their artistic world. For the redesign, I aimed to capture the spirit of punk, rebellion, and non-conformity that defines both the era and their relationship.
